Pillow Fight!

I don't know if there were any pillow fights, but there was a sleepover at Iglesia Luterana Sin Paredes that started yesterday and ended with this morning's 11:30 am worship service! I was able to drop by for an hour or so yesterday afternoon and snap a few photos--in between rehearsal for the Mariachi San Pablo Christmas concert and the mission's policy that we have to be out of Juarez by dark--but mostly I include this on here because of its milestone status in the life of a relatively new mission church. The whole event was entirely planned and executed by the church's faithful group of youth. From setting the schedule to fundraising for the refreshments to designing and passing out "cordial" invitations, they took the reins and ran with them, and it was inspiring to see! Even in these few images, you can see all the hard work that went into the pijamada:

Welcome sign on the front gate.

Watching Luther in Spanish!

Chatting (and laughing) informally with Pastor Stephen. He rode with me; other YLM representatives to make an appearance were Chris, Jeff, and Karla, who led a Bible study on John 3:16 but left before Stephen & I showed up.

Once the camera comes out, there's no stopping the photo shoot!

She followed me around like a puppy dog for a little while and asked for her picture by the Christmas tree at one point.

They even hired a REALLY LOUD Christian band.

Dusk is coming over Anapra...

A cold front blew in over the weekend so I was a little worried about them freezing to death, but of course they had thought about that too: a couple of space heaters made the room where everyone slept nice and toasty!

Until next time, blessings!
