What was last week again?

The title was my reply when a coworker asked me yesterday morning how last week was for me.

It's either a sign I'm crazier than the minimal level of crazy you have to be in order to live this overseas life and keep a smile on your face, or a sign that my side (lodging and transportation) of the annual FPH conference, bringing together the DR seminary's distance seminary students and their pastoral mentors, ran like a well-oiled machine. In this case, it was the latter, in large part thanks to my protege and her Regional Business Manager husband. I spent a minimal amount of time in Palmar, but I happened to be there the morning of the group picture. I did have SOMETHING to do with getting everyone here...and making sure they all left ;)
Way back in November, not-so-conveniently just as I set off on a combined work trip/vacation in Europe, it was time to purchase twenty-six plane tickets. This was something even I'd never done on such a scale, so Dana & I collaborated with the rest of the planning committee on a process. She capably took the reins and never looked back while I took to the friendly skies. It made all the sense in the world, then, that she should make the announcement reminding everyone to consult the departure schematic we'd put together.

Sending everyone home involves doling out pesos for bus fares, taxis, meals at the airport, etc., which I've done in a mildly organized fashion in the past. Stan, though, was next level. For one, he did it so Dana & I didn't have to. And can we talk for just a second about the envelopes he brought with recipients' names pre-printed on them

I'd also forgotten about the 3:30 am airport run I did Saturday morning by the time Sunday rolled around - one more indicator of the week passing in a blur of everyone executing their assigned tasks within their assigned lanes, efficiently and well. A couple highlights for me were emceeing a Quizizz Bible trivia game and coming together for Vespers in the Krey backyard on the second-to-last night. Chanting the Servicio de la luz (Service of Light) after dark? Come on!

I look forward to the day when a few prospective students who came hopefully transition to the Dominican to begin their residential studies, and to the day when each of the current students graduates...if I'm here and not hosting a team elsewhere because adding Dana to the Volunteer Coordination team here has already proven to be game-changing, that is.

Until next time, blessings in Christ!
